Based in San Jose, California and serving artists throughout San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, Santa Cruz, and Silicon Valley and beyond, Steven works with musicians across rock, alternative, singer-songwriter, hip-hop, jazz, experimental genres, as well as audio book production, podcasts and corporate audio.

From tracking vocals and instruments to final mastering, every project receives detailed attention, musical sensitivity, and industry standard audio quality.

“First and foremost, I believe my role as an engineer is to provide a comfortable, creative environment that enables you, the artist, to unleash your best work. Second, my focus is to draw out the finest performance from you, and to cultivate your creativity. While I may offer suggestions or infuse my creativity, your musical vision and ideas hold paramount importance. At the end of the day, it's your song, and my purpose is to guide you in creating your best work.” - Steven Glaze

What I Do

My work covers recording, mixing, mastering, and photography. In the studio, I focus on getting strong performances and creating an environment where musicians can play naturally and comfortably. When mixing, I aim for clarity, depth, and musicality; combining analog character with modern precision so the song feels good and translates everywhere it’s played. Mastering is about bringing everything together in a way that feels balanced and finished without losing the original emotion.

Alongside audio work, I also shoot band photos, promo images, and live performance photography that feels authentic to the artist rather than staged or overly produced.

How I Work

My approach is about finding the balance between feel and detail. Some moments need to be captured as they happen, while others benefit from tightening, shaping, and refining. Most projects end up being a combination of both. I’m not trying to force a sound or a formula onto your music. The goal is to bring out what’s already there, the performance, the emotion, and the character of the songs, and make sure it all comes through clearly and honestly.

I’m not for everyone!

I’m not geared toward ultra generic production, preset-based workflows, or quick turnarounds. I work best with artists who want to be involved in the process and care about both the emotional and technical sides of their music.

If you’re making music and want it to feel real, detailed, and finished in a way that lasts, I’d be happy to hear what you’re working on and see if it makes sense to collaborate.
